Bridgeport Hospital will activate a Specimen Collection Center for COVID-19 to ensure “proper testing of patients that have received a physician’s order and that have a scheduled appointment” and minimize the hospital’s exposure to the virus, according to a media release by the City of Bridgeport Office of Emergency Management & Homeland Security/Emergency Communications.

The announcement stressed that the center will only be available for patients with a physician’s order and a scheduled appointment and no walk-ins will be allowed.

The new center will be located at a facility on the hospital’s campus located on Mill Hill Avenue in Bridgeport.

The office announced that traffic impact can be expected on Mill Hill Avenue with No Parking on the event side of the road from Barnum Avenue to Clermont Avenue. Homeowners can park at the Hospital owned Parking Lot at the corner of Central Avenue and Barnum Avenue or on the odd-side of the street. Bridgeport Police Department will be on hand for traffic control.
