Special guest, Sponge Bob will appear at the Sound Tigers game on February 9th

Nickelodeon has numerous celebrities, from Jimmy Neutron, to Timmy Turner and even Danny Phantom but none cause as much craze as SpongeBob SquarePants. The Sound Tigers are giving kids the opportunity to meet their favorite character at the team's game on Saturday, Feb. 9 when the Sound Tigers face-off against the Portland Pirates at 7 p.m.

SpongeBob SquarePants will attend the game to meet some of his biggest fans, take pictures and slap "high-fives" with all of the children in attendance. Also, the first 1,500 kids, 14 and under who enter the building will receive a FREE Sound Tigers Youth Jersey courtesy of State Auto Sales.

The Sound Tigers will take on the Portland Pirates, against whom they are 1-1 this season, after winning the last game between the two teams, 2-1 on January 21 in Portland, ME. The victory was the first of the Sound Tigers' current three-game winning streak.

On Friday, the Sound Tigers will travel to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA to skate against the Penguins at 7:05 p.m. for the first time at Wachovia Arena this season. The Sound Tigers will then travel to Hartford on Saturday to face-off against their Connecticut rivals, the Wolf Pack at 7 p.m. at the XCel Center. The team's next home game is Friday, February 8th at 7:30 p.m. against the Lowell Devils.

The Sound Tigers are in the midst of another great season of family fun and fast-paced action. Fans interested in becoming season ticket holders or learning more about the Sound Tigers should call 334-GOAL, or visit soundtigers.com.
