STAMFORD, CT - John F. Dillon and Co. (JFD), a leading international freight brokerage and logistics company, has signed a direct lease for its headquarters at Malkin Properties’ First Stamford Place in Stamford, CT, according to Jeffrey H. Newman, executive vice president of Malkin Properties, the marketing and management agent for the three-building, 810,000-square-foot office complex.

JFD, a subtenant at 300 First Stamford Place since 2009, converted to direct tenancy through 2018 for its 4,155-square-foot space on the second floor of the building.

“We are pleased that our company will remain at First Stamford Place,” says Robert Dillon, President of JFD. “The Malkin Properties staff is a truly responsive and cooperative group of people to interact with, and we look forward to our ongoing relationship with the management of this Class A building.”

JFD was founded in 1965. In 1991, the firm was appointed the sole North American panelist for the Baltic International Freight Futures Exchange (BIFFEX). The company originally focused on agri-business, but has since expanded to include the aluminum, steel, carbon and fertilizer industries. JFD recently added research and project departments, in an effort to further enhance its clients’ ability to execute their short- and long-term freight decisions.

“Whether as an existing tenant or prospective tenant, every entity conducting business within our Trophy portfolio receives the same top-tier service, with access to amenities that are unsurpassed,” says Mr. Newman. “The fact that John F. Dillon and Co. became a primary tenant at the first opportunity is a testament to their satisfaction during the previous three years. We are pleased to welcome this distinguished firm to our roster.”

Mr. Newman represented the landlord in this transaction along with senior leasing associate Kim Zaccagnino and leasing associate Tara Long. The tenant was represented by Mike Nelson of CBRE.
