Summer Soothers-Natural Bug Repellent and Lavender Festival

FARMINGTON, CT - Warm summer weather beckons the body and spirit outdoors. The holistic living experts at the Bridge Healing Arts Center (BHAC) in Farmington will guide you through a fun, carefree season with special events and seminars.
The first ever Lavender Festival on Saturday, June 3rd celebrates one of the most popular garden bloomers. The plants are widely cultivated for their essential oils, used to scent a variety of products. The dried flowers have long been used in sachets to scent chests and closets, and the ancient Romans used lavender in their baths. Learn about the different plant varieties, perfumes, soaps and applications in herbal medicine. Chefs also use lavender to flavor beverages and sweets. Sample lavender flavored foods including chocolate, cheese, pastries, teas, drinks and more.
Are you a healing arts practitioner? Then, make your new home at the Bridge Healing Arts Center this season and become a part of the newest concept in holistic cross-specialty collaboration. Our Open House Events on Thursday, June 8th and Thursday, June 22nd from 4:00-7:00p.m. We will show you how to expand your client base with affordable, temporary or permanent office suites of all sizes, modern meeting rooms and contemporary common areas, onsite reception staff, state-of-the-art video production studio, abundant parking areas, walking path and beautifully landscaped outdoor spaces ideal for classes.
On June 9th from 6 or 7 pm for 2 hours Psychic Rebecca Locicero from Vernon will conduct Group Psychic Readings. Funny and raw, Rebecca will help you gain insight into your life in an entertaining way. Learn all about her at www.rebeccaanne.org. Cost: $30.
Then on June 24th from 10:00am-3:00pm, learn how to free yourself from toxic influences that are holding you back. The Perfect Union: Emotional Freedom Techniques Meets the Law of Attraction, is a workshop that will teach you the Emotional Freedom Technique, a simple, yet profound process that can be used to eliminate a variety of challenges. Negative energies from painful trauma memories, limiting beliefs, phobias and physical pain need to be released from the cellular memory to clear the way for the Law of Attraction to work efficiently and effectively. In this class, you’ll learn how to combine the process of EFT and the Law of Attraction, mastering your internal world, in order to effectively create more of what you want in your life. Cost: $80 per person.
The Bridge Healing Arts Center also offers a full schedule of weekly classes during the month of June, including:
· Meditation Mondays:
o 10:30-11:20a Gentle Yoga 101 (Children to Seniors) Vinyasa Flow: Vinyasa yoga classes, students coordinate movement with breath to flow from one pose to the next. This is a very gentle class, go back to work refreshed, not tired or sweaty!
o 11:30a-1200p Intergenerational Meditation for Children to Seniors Meditation can remove stress and replace it with a dose of inner peace.
· Tea Tasting Tuesdays:
o 4:00-5:00p Chinese Herb Tea – Find your inner focus with unique, inspiring and distinctly different tasting themes each week.
o 5:00-6:00p Kundalini Yoga with Ada utilizes intense breath work for a complete body overhaul from the inside out. Known as the yoga of awareness, is a fast and effective way to clear the mind, energize the body, and uplift the spirit. Students see and feel the results quickly, feeling energized, relaxed, and uplifted after each class.
· Women’s Wellness Wednesdays:
o 4:00-5:00p Hang up the Super Woman Cape and take time for self-care by learning about Super Foods from our very own macrobiotic chef Jeanne, Super Supplements and Super Treatments. We offer in-house child care with crafts, yoga and meditation. Cost $10 for class and $5-10 per hour for child care.
o 5:00-6:00p Vin Yin Yoga Experience (Work Out/ Wind Down) This fusion of Vinyasa Flow and Yin Yoga offers movement to improve strength and balance while staying connected with one’s breath.
o 11a-12:30p Every 3rd Wednesday of the month - Tap-aware Party with Catherine. TAP INTO YOUR BEST SELF! In this engaging, enlightening and interactive workshop you’ll gain a clear understanding of how and why old emotions are hijacking you, why you’re stuck in patterns that aren’t serving you and what you can do to change it! EFT Tapping is a simple, easy to use technique to quiet your mind, calm your body and release emotional blocks so that you can consistently show up as your most poised, brilliant, articulate and authentic self! This technique will be sure to support you in your work life as well as your personal life. Cost $20 for a 90-mintue session.
· Trek Through Thursdays:
o 10:00a – 5:00p Whether looking for a space to expand your healing arts practice, or scouting out a serene setting for your organization’s big event, our knowledgeable staff will lead you on a personalized tour of our expansive facility.
o 12 noon- 1:00p Lunchtime Yoga with Ada: Balance your Chakra and your belly with this unique combination of movement and healthy eating. Come to our Cafe to eat foods focused on the Chakra Healing of the Day.
o 7:00 – 8:00p June 15 and every 3rd Thurs of the month. Metaphysical Book Club, including light appetizers. Cost $5
· Future Focus Fridays:
o 12:00-12:45p Lunchtime Yoga (Vinyasa Flow) End of the week EXHALE! Students coordinate movement with breath to flow from one pose to the next. This is a very gentle class, go back to work REFRESHED, not tired or sweaty!
o 530-7p on June 16 Make Your Own Natural Insect Repellents And Bug Bite Soothers. Want to protect your family from harmful insects like mosquitoes, fleas and ticks without dousing them in toxic chemicals? Learn to make natural insect repellents and bug bite soothers that are safe, effective and are less expensive at this special Future Focus Friday class. Cost $15.00 includes all supplies.
The fee structure for all yoga and meditation classes is: 1st class FREE, then $15 for each subsequent class or $200 for a monthly Fast Pass of unlimited classes. Each complimentary first class includes a 15-minute sauna or foot detoxification treatment.
