WILTON, CT - Wilton Rocks for Food presents its third benefit concert for the Connecticut Food Bank and the Wilton Food Pantry on Saturday, December 2, 8:00PM, at the Trackside Teen Center in Wilton. The concert will feature more than 30 Wilton musicians.
Last year’s event raised more than $48,000 for the two organizations. Wilton resident Andy Schlesinger, the concert’s organizer, said the goal this year is to raise $60,000.
The event will feature food, beer and a silent auction in addition to the concert. The event is open to adults age 21 and over. One-hundred percent of proceeds from the event will be donated to the two organizations.
Schlesinger said the concert will once again feature Wilton-based performers. The concerts have been sell-out events, that include a variety of rock and pop music. The positive response and goal-exceeding amounts raised have proven the event is already becoming a tradition.
“Andy and the Wilton community make this a not-to-be-missed event,” said Connecticut Food Bank CEO Bernie Beaudreau. “We know it will be both fun and fulfilling, since individual tickets have once again sold out. We are grateful to the organizers, performers and donors who are helping to feed neighbors in need.”
Wilton Rocks for Food is Saturday, December 2, at 8:00PM, at the Trackside Teen Center, 15 Station Road in Wilton. Information about the event is at www.wiltonrocks.com.
