News that Amazon is looking for another city to host its second headquarters has Mayor Ganim and Fairfield Selectman Mike Tetreau very interested to be home to the largest Internet-based retailer in the world. “We believe that the City of Bridgeport and Fairfield County have the attributes and meet the criteria that Amazon is looking for as evidence displayed in the analysis done by Market Watch, which publicized 12 cities throughout the country, Bridgeport is one of those cities selected,” explained Mayor Ganim.

Fairfield First Selectman Mike Tetreau stated, “We are keenly interested to attract a world-renowned company like Amazon to advance Fairfield County as a potential site for its second corporate headquarters.”

The City of Bridgeport and Fairfield are excited about Amazon's announcement and Bridgeport's noted optimum position. Both Ganim and Tetreau look forward to pursuing this opportunity to be a future reality that will bring jobs and strengthen economic growth for the region. Following the news Friday posted in MarketWatch with the people’s "vote now” survey, Bridgeport ranks second to be Amazon’s HQ2 with 13% of the popular vote.
