State Senator Len Fasano (R- North Haven) today announced his endorsement of Department of Consumer Protection Commissioner Jerry Farrell, Jr. in his bid for Secretary of State.

“I have known Jerry for close to ten years,” said Sen. Fasano. “Even before his appointment to the Department of Consumer Protection, I had the opportunity to work with Jerry through his involvement with the town of Wallingford. He is very active in local issues that go above and beyond his job as Commissioner and his years of public service have earned him an excellent reputation.”

Prior to his 2004 appointment as chief of the Department of Consumer Protection, Commissioner Farrell served the town as Wallingford for seven terms on the town council and several years as a selectman and Justice of the Peace. He has also been involved with a number of local non-profit organizations from the Wallingford Historic Preservation Fund to the Center Street Cemetery Association.

“Jerry is a devoted public servant,” said Sen. Fasano. “Not only has he been a leader in his local community, he is an effective advocate for the people of Connecticut. As Consumer Protection Commissioner, he has established a reputation as the consumer’s best friend by working tirelessly to ensure that the hardworking people of our state are not harmed by dishonest business practices.”

“His commitment to his community and his outstanding work for the people of Connecticut make Commissioner Farrell an easy choice for Secretary of State,” added. Sen. Fasano.
