Earth Animal and local photographer, Pamela Einarsen, are pleased to announce “Pictures for the Pound.” This is a special pet portrait event to benefit the Westport Animal Control Shelter. These mini photo sessions take place on Saturday, May 1st between 10am and 4pm at Earth Animal, 606 Post Road East, in Westport.
For their $75 donation, participants will get a 15-minute portrait session of them and their animal companion. Following the event, families will be sent 5 5”x7” unframed prints. Reservations are suggested and can be made by calling Pamela Einarsen Photography at 203.221.1818 to check on available times. Walk-in’s will be accommodated on a space-available basis.
One hundred percent of all donations go to the Westport Animal Shelter Advocates (W.A.S.A.), a local rescue group dedicated to helping homeless and abandoned dogs. This money will be targeted to help create outdoor runs for the Westport Animal Control Shelter and to buy supplies for homeless animals. Officer D’Amico, in charge of the shelter, extends an open invitation for all to come and check out the new indoor facility. The shelter is located on Elaine Road near the boat ramp off of Bridge Street.
Earth Animal, established in 1979, was founded by Dr. Bob and Susan Goldstein for the purpose of offering natural or organic products and services as well as healthy solutions for dogs, cats and other domestic animals. It is believed to be the first authentic health food store for animals in the United States and is affiliated with Healing Center for Animals, a natural pharmacy, specializing in the “Nutritional Pet Profile” (NPP) offering an individual nutraceutical dietary supplement program for your animal.
Westport Animal Shelter Advocates (W.A.S.A.) is a charitable not-for-profit organization that helps provide care and shelter to homeless animals in the greater Fairfield County Area.
Pamela Einarsen is an award-winning portrait and fine art photographer whose work has been featured in the New YorkTimes, Westport Magazine and Weston Magazine. Pamela’s images were chosen from among one million photos submitted by 25,000 photographers to be featured in the Connecticut and Dog editions, of the America 24/7 book project. She participates in local charity events and artist organizations. Her solo show “Second Sight” was hosted by the Westport Arts Center.
