A band of brothers from Texas, Los Lonely Boys play what they call “Texican Rock ‘n’ Roll” that combines elements of rock, blues, soul, country and Tejano.  Henry, Jojo and Ringo Garza will be in concert at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Thursday, October 21, at 8 p.m.  They cover the gamut of guitar, bass guitar, vocals, drums, harmonic, keyboards and percussion and have released three studio albums and one live.</description>

        <description>The State Mosquito Management Program today announced that a resident of Greenwich has tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV) infection and is hospitalized. The Greenwich resident, between 80-89 years of age, became ill during the last week of August and is hospitalized for encephalitis. Illness was characterized by fever, headache, and confusion. Laboratory tests confirmed the presence of antibodies to WNV. </description>

        <description>NEW HAVEN- On Friday evening, Hurricane Earl is forecasted to travel through the region approximately 150 miles southeast of Long Island. Earl is expected to have its biggest impact across eastern Long Island Friday evening while also having an impact on  adjacent waters and southeastern Connecticut. Heavy rains, gusting winds and flooding are possible with this storm for all of Southern New Haven County. According to The National Weather Service, Connecticut has a 40-60% chance of Tropical Storm force winds (39-73 MPH).</description>

Jodi Rell today announced that the U.S. Department of Education has formally approved the state’s application for $110.5 million to support public education jobs in all 169 municipalities. The funds are part of the $10 billion available through the federal Education Jobs and Medicaid Assistant Act. The Governor announced last month that the state would disburse the funds as grants through the Education Cost Sharing (ECS) formula to ensure that every school district in the state received a portion of the $110.5 million. The grants will go directly to the local school district to help them retain or rehire teachers and other staff.</description>

Stamford, CT—The 15th Annual ARI Lotstein/Martin Golf Tournament took place on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Sterling Farms Golf Course.  The event exceeded all expectations raising over $45,000 that will benefit programs that support adults with disabilities.  The highlight of the event was auctioneer Bennett Salvatore.  Stamford Resident and NBA Referee Bennett Salvatore assisted in making the auction the most successful in years.  Bennett Salvatore brought comedy and personal experience to the event while asking attendees to help support ARI.</description>
