Stamford, CT and White Plains, NY--April 3, 2008 – Commercial real estate brokerage firm Choyce Peterson, Inc. today announced the addition of David Sims as Senior Vice President.
With over 30 years of commercial real estate experience nationally, including Manhattan, Westchester County, and Connecticut, David has leased over 18 million square feet of office space and sold 6 buildings worth more than $150 million.
According to John Hannigan, Principal at Choyce Peterson, “Over the course of our careers, we all meet people who stand out because of their intelligence and integrity. David is one of those people. Having known him for eighteen years, I am delighted that he has joined our firm. He is an asset to the company and will be a strong advocate for those we represent.”
Prior to joining Choyce Peterson, Sims worked for Reckson Associates Realty Corp, serving as Managing Director & Senior Vice President of the Westchester/Connecticut division as well as a member of the Operating Committee. He was responsible for the formulation and execution of the division’s business plan for 6.7 million square feet of office space. David was instrumental in the repositioning of The Platinum Mile (formally the Eastridge Portfolio which had been recently acquired), consisting of 1.4 million square feet of buildings on Westchester Avenue in White Plains and Purchase, NY.
“My background and experience representing both landlords and tenants helps me bring a unique perspective to the negotiating process,” says Sims. “I look forward to applying that experience to the multi-talented professionals at Choyce Peterson.”
Sims was Senior Vice President at CB Richard Ellis in New York City, representing landlords such as RREEF, UNITE HERE, Amalgamated Bank, Taconic Investment Partners, INVESCO, Sentinel Real Estate; and tenants including American Capital, Gide Loyrette Nouel, Amalgamated Bank, Greenwich Capital and Zephyr Management. Prior to CBRE, he was Senior Vice President/Partner and co-leader of the leasing team at Mendik Realty Company (which was acquired by Vornado Realty Trust). Here, working with the legendary real estate magnate Bernie Mendik, David was involved in all facets of the business, including the renovation and repositioning of many of the Mendik/Vornado assets and the leasing of 8 different Manhattan office buildings in excess of 6 million square feet.
“We are very excited to add David to our team. Choyce Peterson strives to reflect the highest standards. Having David on board – with his years of real estate experience – will benefit all of our current and future clients,” stated Alan Peterson, Principal at Choyce Peterson.
Sims received his BA from Syracuse University. He taught a real estate course at the NYU Real Estate Institute and served on several committees of the Real Estate Board of New York and the Young Men’s & Women’s Real Estate Association (YMWREA). David lives with his family in Old Greenwich, CT.
