The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced recently that they have signed forward Ryan Duncan to an Amateur Tryout Contract. Duncan joins the Sound Tigers after completing his senior season at the University of North Dakota, skating for the Fighting Sioux. The Calgary, ALTA native produced impressive numbers over his four year career at UND, totaling 85 goals and 87 assists for 172 points in 175 career games played.

At the end of his sophomore season (2006-07), Duncan was awarded the Hobey Baker Award, given to the top men’s college hockey player in the country. The 5’6, 165 pound forward tallied 57 points (31 goals & 26 assists) during the 2006-07 season. Duncan becomes the second Hobey Baker Award winner on the Sound Tigers’ current roster, along with Junior Lessard, who won the award in 2004.

The following night, the Sound Tigers will match-up against the Lowell Devils in their final game of the season. Face-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. For information or tickets to the Sound Tigers’ opening round of the Calder Cup Playoffs, contact the team’s front office at (203) 334-GOAL or e-mail info@soundtigers.com.
