The Danbury Mad Hatters of the Eastern Professional Hockey League (EPHL) have announced that they will be running a special promotion to help Danbury's needy.

The Mad Hatters' Tough Guys are challenging all of their fans to bring a new pair of gloves or mittens, or winter hats for both kids and adults to their home game against the Jersey Rockhoppers on January 4, 2009 and drop them at the entrance. All winter items will be collected and given to Danbury's shelters to help those in need brave the cold this winter.

"With winter already upon us, and temperatures dropping, we felt it was important to help out our community by collecting these items and giving them to the people who need them the most," Business General Manager Eric Horn said. "During this time of the year, we are always thankful for what we have, but we want to remember those who don't have the same luxuries we do, and as an organization this is the least we can do."

Fans can purchase tickets for this game, as well as other Mad Hatters home games by visiting the Mad Hatters website and clicking on the "Tickets" link.

Season tickets, game plans, and individual game tickets are on sale now! Visit www.madhattershockey.com for more information or call 203-885-1128 ext. 8207.
