He will address "Menopausal Symptom Management in Breast Cancer Survivors" on Wednesday, October 29, at 6:00 p.m. in the Richard S. Perkin Auditorium. Dr. Loprinzi will explain that there are effective treatment options for breast cancer survivors who are experiencing the common problems associated with menopause. In addition to his responsibilities as chief of medical oncology at the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Loprinzi is a professor at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. He is the recipient of numerous awards including the Mayo Clinic Medical Oncology Teacher of the Year Award and the Association of Community Cancer Center's Clinical Research Award. He also received the Komen Foundation Brinker Award for Scientific Distinction, CancerCare Outstanding Service Award, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Professor of Survivorship Award, and the North American Menopausal Society (NAMS) Vasomotor Symptoms Research Award. Dr Loprinzi received his M.D. degree from Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. He completed his internship in internal medicine and his residency training in medical oncology at Maricopa County General Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. He was awarded a Fellowship at Wisconsin Clinical Cancer Center. His numerous professional affiliations include memberships in the American Society of Clinical Oncology, North Central Cancer Treatment Group, American Society of Preventive Oncology and the American Medical Association. He is also the author of numerous articles published in prestigious medical journals.
