The kitchens will be buzzing and the food will be sizzling at the 2009 MS Taste of Hope, Fairfield County. The National MS Society, Connecticut Chapter will host this year’s event at the Aitoro kitchen showroom in Norwalk on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The unique setting features several working kitchen showrooms allowing guests to sip fine wine while watching Fairfield County’s top chefs prepare their signature dishes. The impressive list of restaurants already confirmed for the September event include Capital Grille in Stamford, Coromandel in Norwalk, Morello Bistro in Greenwich and Meigas in Norwalk. Ola! Foods, Moet Hennessey and Stoli have also partnered to provide food, wine and drinks for the event.

The tasting features wine, spirits and other beverages as well as live cooking demonstrations. The event also includes a silent and live auction.

“The Aitoro showroom will provide a fantastic showcase for Fairfield Country’s best restaurants,” said Carrie Levitt, development manager for the Connecticut Chapter. “It will be a great evening of sumptuous food, exquisite wine and a tremendous atmosphere.”

More than 6,000 Connecticut residents are affected by multiple sclerosis, a potentially debilitating disease affecting the central nervous system. The cause is unknown and, as a result, there is currently no cure for MS. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot be predicted.

Funds raised by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Connecticut Chapter, through events, such as MS Taste of Hope, ensure ongoing scientific research to find better treatments and a cure, as well as to provide vital programs and services offered by the chapter to those in the state living with multiple sclerosis.

MS Taste of Hope will take place at Aitoro, 401 Westport Ave., in Norwalk Thursday, Sept. 24, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person in advance and $65 at the door.
