Registration is currently underway for the seventeenth annual Young Artists Summer Jazz Workshop, an intensive two-week seminar for advanced high school musicians from throughout Connecticut and Westchester County specializing in trumpet, trombone, saxophone, guitar, piano, bass and drums. Tuition for this workshop is $850. The Workshop will be held at Stamford High School, 55 Strawberry Hill Ave., in Stamford, Connecticut. More

Dodd introduces legislation to improve literacy in geography
Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT), along with Senator Thad Cochran (R-MS), yesterday introduced the Teaching Geography Is Fundamental Act, which would authorize competitive grants through the Department of Education to improve K-12 geography curriculum, teacher training, and materials. Dodd is a senior member of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions and the Chairman of its Subcommittee on Children and Families. More
