Stamford, CT - Stamford Public Schools (SPS) Superintendent Dr. Tamu Lucero and the Stamford Board of Education (BOE) named Robert A. Stacy as Executive Director of Human Resources and Talent Development, at a Special Board Meeting, held Tuesday, August 13, 2019. Stacy brings more than 30 years’ experience in school district, corporate and U.S. Army Human Resources. He will join SPS in mid-September.

Stacy has been the Chief Human Resources Officer in the Greenwich Public Schools (GPS) since July 2015. During his tenure there, he also served as the Interim Chief Operating Officer/Director of Facilities. Stacy has held the positions of Chief Human Resources Officer for Consolidated School District of New Britain, Executive Director for Human Resources in the Wappingers Central School District as well as in the Hartford Public Schools.

As Executive Director of Human Resources and Talent Development, Stacy will report to the Superintendent and be responsible for directing, coordinating, and managing certified and non-certified staff and resources, including professional development, human resources systems, collective bargaining, benefits and employee relations.

“I, along with all the members of the interview committees, was very impressed with Bob’s skills and experience,” said Superintendent Lucero. “Bob brings a unique diversity of hands-on school district experience, complemented by a background in corporate HR and law, which I know will serve to strengthen our HR department and be of value to our district. I look forward to working with Bob.”

Stacy has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y., and holds a Juris Doctor in General Law from Albany Law School. He is also a Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources and a member of the Society for Human Resources Management.

“I look forward to expanding the impact that I can make in public education by working in Stamford to ensure the students receive the best possible education,” said Stacy. “I see Dr. Lucero as a visionary leader and am excited to begin working with her and all the members of her administration.”
