The first seven York batters hit safely to start the big third inning. Immediately following a Chris Ashby RBI single, Jason Aspito drilled a three-run shot over the train tracks past the right field wall. The Revs would tack on three more runs in the inning, capped by a Kennard Jones RBI single that knocked Bluefish ace Barry Hertzler (8-8) out of the game. Jones led the Revs with a three-for-five night with an RBI and a run. The Bluefish offense had issues with York starter Dan Foli (5-6). Bridgeport mustered just one run on four hits off the Revs' righty. Foli struck out seven in his seven innings of work. Hertzler suffered the loss in his shortest start since July 8th (1.2 innings). The 2008 All-Star allowed seven runs on nine hits and two walks with two strikeouts. Bridgeport tried to mount a comeback off the Revs' bullpen in the eighth. Ryan Bear and Wilson Batista each blasted homers off York lefty Wayne Franklin to bring the 'Fish within three runs. However, with the tying run on deck, reliever Juan Padilla came in and struck out Travis Ezi to end the inning. Batista led the Bluefish offensively going two-for-four with a double, a homer, a run and two RBIs. The Bluefish look to rebound tomorrow night at 7:05 P.M. Jordan Pals (0-2) will start for Bridgeport and oppose Dave Gil (4-5).
