The Riversharks took revenge on the Bridgeport Bluefish Thursday after dropping two this week. All-star outfielder Ron Davenport led a nine-run charge with a two homerun, seven RBI day.

The Sharks got on the board in the third when Davenport shot a two-run single through the left side. Outfielder Sheldon Fulse and infielder Gabe Suarez each scored after walks.

Catcher Cody Collet singled in the third run in the fourth. Second baseman Bobby Gandolfo scored.

Up 3-0, Davenport smashed his first homer in the fifth with one on. He repeated in the sixth for three more RBIs to put the Sharks on top 8-0. Davenport leads the team with 16 homeruns on the season. He ended the day 3-for-5.

The Sharks added one more in the seventh on an RBI single from designated hitter Shaun Boyd.

Former Riversharks catcher Ben Davis made his first appearance as a reliever in the eighth. Davis was signed Tuesday after being released from the Orioles. He allowed the lone Fish run on a solo shot by designated hitter Alex Prieto, but he regained composure and struck out two.

Starter Ryan Dittfurth (3-3) collected the win for the Sharks after going seven innings and allowing just five hits. Jordan Pals (0-2) took the loss for Bridgeport. Pals allowed four of the nine total walks for the Fish.
