The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum is pleased to announce three professional development opportunities for artists that focus on communication this spring. The program includes two interactive development workshops which are designed to provide the skills required for communicating effectively on the Internet and in person, as well as a free networking event which will provide artists a forum for casual conversation with other artists and Museum curators.
The first program, Radius: Internet for Artists, will take place on Saturday, May 2, from 2 to 5 pm at Ridgefield Guild of Artists (Ridgefield, CT) and address how Internet resources can be used to build audience, expand community, amplify marketing, and extend administrative resources. Maximum number of participants is 25. $50; $65 for 2-workshop series (including Talk the Talk on May 7 at Artspace).
The second program, Radius: Talk the Talk: Communicating about Your Artwork, will take place on Thursday, May 7, from 6:30 to 8 pm at Artspace (New Haven, CT) and will guide participants through the basics of giving a fluent artist talk and writing an effective artist statement. Maximum number of participants is 15. $20; $65 for 2-workshop series (including Internet for Artists on May 2 at Ridgefield Guild of Artists).
Radius: For Artists Only! An Open House will take place at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum (Ridgefield, CT) on Saturday, May 9, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. This free evening at The Aldrich will offer area artists the opportunity to enjoy refreshments with their peers and Museum curators; discuss what they’re working on in the studio, learn about Radius and other professional development opportunities, and view the exhibitions currently on view.
