The Women’s Business Development Center hosted Hadassah Lieberman wife of Senator Joseph Lieberman (I) CT at Aetheria Relaxation Spa in New Canaan this Monday. Mrs. Lieberman heard from WBDC client and member, Elizabeth McCarthy, owner of Aetheria Relaxation Spa about her journey as an entrepreneur, her experience as a Connecticut business owner, the training she received from WBDC and its impact on her business.

“I am honored to have been invited to host Mrs. Lieberman at Aetheria Spa by the Women’s Business Development Center. Owning a business is very intense and overwhelming at times, and I’m fortunate to have been the recipient of the WBDC’s services and programs over the last three years to help guide me through the challenges every small business faces. They offer guidance, one-on-one business consulting, and exceptional educational programs to help me achieve my business goals. Most importantly, they are one of my biggest cheerleaders. Having such a resource available to women entrepreneurs is invaluable.” states Elizabeth McCarthy, owner, Aetheria Relaxation Spa, New Canaan, CT.

About 25 guests attended the event including civic and community leaders and WBDC members, WBDC women-owned business proprietors and clients who have maintained an ongoing relationship with WBDC. Guests sampled the spa services they offer by giving hand and foot massages to those in attendance.

“It is truly an honor to have the opportunity to put a spotlight a successful woman owned business like Aetheria Spa and entrepreneur and WBDC member and client, Elizabeth McCarthy. Her interest and support of our efforts is deeply appreciated.” states Fran Pastore, President and CEO, Women’s Business Development Center. “WBDC’s goal is educate, motivate and inspire women entrepreneurs throughout the state so they can create jobs for themselves and others and become tax payers.” Pastore continues.

Women’s Business Development Center (WBDC) is a nonprofit organization established in 1997 that promotes economic development through entrepreneurship by delivering high-quality and low cost programs for women and men at every stage of business and professional development. WBDC has training facilities in Stamford, New Haven, Norwalk, Milford, Shelton and Bridgeport.
