STAMFORD, CT - Employees from APTMetrics kicked off their annual nationwide meeting at Wee Burn Country Club in Darien yesterday with a volunteer effort to support Pacific House emergency shelter. Employees from across the country gathered together and assembled hygiene kits filled with essential toiletries for the shelter’s clients.

“We’re delighted to be working with Pacific House,” said Kathleen K. Lundquist, Ph.D., President and CEO of APTMetrics. “We’ve always been committed to volunteerism and their program for young men intrigued us. The toiletries are items they might need to take care of themselves, and it’s a way to let them know that we care.”

The group made over 600 hygiene kits, each including a washcloth, comb, deodorant, shampoo/body wash, toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving cream, razor, and a handwritten note wishing the recipient well.

“When a person comes to Pacific House emergency shelter with nothing more than the clothes on his back and is handed a gift of things he needs to take care of himself, that’s more than a gift, it’s a step towards getting life back on track,” said Andrew Barer, Director of Development for Pacific House. “The kit and the note will carry great meaning for our clients.”

A fundraiser to support the Pacific House Young Adult program will be held on Friday, February 23rd at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich Hotel. Attendees will enjoy delicious dessert and food tastings, great music by talented musicians from local high schools and special performances by Javier Colon, winner of The Voice.
