Stamford, CT - On Wednesday, September 25, 2013, from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. Charity Matchmaking, with the support of local associations and media, is hosting an education and networking event for businesses and non-profit organizations with the ultimate goal of creating matches that support both business growth and valuable community services. Answers to how businesses can gain new customers/clients, additional revenue, positive press and improve employee morale in addition to meeting their corporate social responsibility mission by working with non-profits will be addressed. Non-Profit organizations will have an opportunity to meet and talk with businesses that may be interested in helping them.

Components of the Matchmaking event:
Panelists will share stories of successful non-profit/for-profit partnerships and offer recommendations.
Speed networking, based on the popular Speed Dating concept, will allow non-profits to share their mission and what they have to offer to business representatives (appearing incognito) and businesses will be able to find non-profits that have contacts and potential customers that can help them grow
Follow-up Dates will be arranged between the businesses and non-profits that have mutually selected each other where Fern Pessin, Chief Matchmaker, will help create a campaign, event or program they can implement together.
A resource center will feature information and representatives of organizations that can assist non-profits with fundraising and business efficiency.

Lisa Wexler, an attorney, non-profit board member and Gracie-Award winner, will apply her humorous and insightful style to moderate the panel. Lisa has been previously named Gold Coast Best Radio Personality and is host of the daily talk radio show (The Lisa Wexler Show) on WFAS. Lisa is also the co-author of the award- winning "Secrets of a Jewish Mother," (Penguin/Dutton) with her sister, former "Real Housewife of NYC" Jill Zarin, and her mother, advice columnist Gloria Kamen.
Speakers on the non-profit panel will address what non-profits have to offer businesses, what kind of support is needed (other than cash) and case histories of effective for/non profit collaborations. Panelists include Anthony F. DiLauro, MSW (Executive Director, Human Services Council, Norwalk), Bridget Fox (Executive Vice President of Volunteerism, The Volunteer Center, Stamford), Julia Wade (Director of Volunteers at DOMUS and Elected Board Member of Stamford Board of Education), Tom Gabriel (Director of Development, Greenwich United Way) and Ryan Odinak (Executive Director of Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County). Panelists will share unique examples of successful partnerships and some statistics on how non-profits help businesses.
Speakers on the business panel will address what businesses need and want from non-profits in order to support them. Innovative business leaders will share their case histories of effective for/non profit collaborations and offer inspiration to other businesses and non-profits for possible collaboration ideas. ?Panelists include David Martin (Co-Founder and COO of Solude Coffee, Westport), Liz Osta, (Owner, Nagi Jewelers, Stamford), Mia Schipani (Vice President Business Development, RMS Companies and Hotel Zero Degrees, Stamford and Norwalk).
Event partners to date include Stamford Innovation Center, Stamford Chamber of Commerce, Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County, CT Association of Non-Profits, TANGO, and Fairfield County Business Journal.
