Governor M. Jodi Rell and the State Employees Bargaining Agent Coalition (SEBAC) today confirmed that SEBAC has voted to enter into a tentative agreement with the State of Connecticut on a package that will result in substantial savings in the cost of providing public services in the coming biennium and beyond.

The vote, by the leaders of all of Connecticut’s state employee unions, sends the agreement to rank-and-file members for ratification.

Following ratification by employees, the agreement will be presented to the General Assembly for approval.

“SEBAC and my Administration have worked together in a spirit of respect and professionalism,” said Governor Rell, expressing her appreciation for the efforts of union leaders to help her resolve the enormous financial issues facing the state.

Details of the tentative agreement will be released next week, after the formal agreement has been signed and unions have had an opportunity to provide information to their members.
