Union Savings Bank Assistant Vice Presidents Anthony Gnolfo and Darlene Dodson and Senior Credit Analyst Teresa Costa recently graduated from the Connecticut School of Finance and Management (CSFM). They received their certificates of completion for the program at a CFSM program at the Trumbull Marriott.
The CSFM is a competitive two-year program sponsored by the Connecticut Banking Association for the purpose of providing students — the employees of CT-member banks — with a broad perspective on the banking industry as a whole, as well as instruction on select managerial topics related to banking. During the program, students attend monthly, full-day classes, complete take-home assignments and write a first year paper.
The program ends with the completion of BankSim, an assignment intended to replicate the management of a bank over the course of three years, and includes visits from state bank examiners, auditors, stockholders, and the media. Students work together in teams that compete against each other for market supremacy, while remaining in compliance with banking laws and regulations. Classes are taught by CSFM faculty, all of whom are banking industry specialists.
As part of its commitment to building its professionals' on-the-job expertise, Union Savings Bank has been an ongoing sponsor of its employees' participation in the CSFM program.
