When a candidate files an Affidavit of Intent to Abide by Expenditure Limits and joins the Citizens’ Election Program; that candidate, becomes legally bound to comply with all Program requirements. The Commission is responsible for ensuring that all campaigns adhere to the requirements of the Program and that public funds are distributed only to campaigns that satisfy these requirements. To date, seven candidates for state senator and twenty-six candidates for state representative have been awarded public grants for the 2008 General Assembly elections. © Copyright by NorwalkPlus.com.
