As part of NFTE's curriculum, students in each class learn business concepts, practice using skills including negotiation and pricing, and create business plans for their own businesses. Classroom competitions were held in May and selected students presented their business plans to a group of senior business executives who determined the winners from each classroom. Classroom winners were welcomed to participate in the countywide competition on May 28. The National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (www.nfte.com) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, whose mission is to provide entrepreneurship education programs to young people from low-income communities.
