Norwalk, CT - Family & Children’s Agency (FCA) awarded Julene and Simon Greenshields of Wilton the Spirit of FCA Award during their annual benefit, IMAGINE, on Friday, May 31, 2019. The couple has been involved with FCA for more than 16 years, offering leadership, guidance, financial support, and volunteer time.

“Julene and Simon have been made a major impact on FCA over the years and are truly part of the FCA family. I am thrilled we were able to present this award to such dedicated supporters of the Agency,” said Robert F. Cashel, President & CEO of FCA.

In 2003, Julene was the mother of three young children when she attended a Mother’s Day Tea and was deeply moved by the positive impact FCA programs have on struggling families. Since that introduction, the Greenshields have become incredible champions for FCA and have opened their hearts and home to the Agency.

Julene is a member of the Board of Directors and served as Chairman of the Board for four years. She serves on the IMAGINE Benefit Committee and was Co-Chair of the event for seven years. Julene and Simon even hosted two IMAGINE events at their Wilton home. The Greenshields have funded client trips to see baseball games, participated in dinners for people experiencing homelessness, donated turkeys for Thanksgiving, sponsored families at the holidays, and provided diapering supplies for new parents. Their children have even been involved in FCA, volunteering and working in internships with the Agency.

Now, having come full circle from that first Mother’s Day Tea in 2003, the Greenshields have hosted several Mother’s Day Teas in their own home, helping to raise funds for FCA and introduce new friends to the Agency.

“I am so humbled to have been honored with this award along with my husband. When you spend time doing something you love for an organization you believe in like we believe in FCA, it doesn’t feel like work,” said Julene Greenshields.
