FAIRFIELD, CT - Sacred Heart University will offer an anatomy enrichment program July 15-20 at the Center for Healthcare Education for rising high school juniors and seniors in the area who are interested in biology or health-care careers.

Students will examine cadavers and dissect animal specimens while working with the newest simulations and technology. They also will learn basic life support/CPR.

“This experience will not only advance their understanding of anatomy and physiology, but provide them with a strong basis for their future collegiate experience,” said Marilyn Moss, a biology lecturer at SHU.

Moss has been part of the program’s planning team. She recently promoted it at an event at Greenwich High School, where she was among 60 vendors who were recruiting Fairfield County students from public and private schools for various other summer programs, internships or camps.

Ceasar Irby, a surgeon in the Fairfield area has offered to pay the tuition to this program for a student from Kolbe-Cathedral High School in Bridgeport through the Scholarship for Kolbe-Cathedral High School: Florida Mae Irby Scholarship. He heard about this program through his sister, Tangular Irby, who is an adjunct instructor in the education department.
