Product Safety Inspectors from the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection are conducting recall effectiveness checks at Pottery Barn Kids stores in response to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s voluntary recall of “Children’s Metal Water Bottles, due to a choking hazard. The sip top can easily pull off from the water bottle, posing a choking hazard to young children. This product was manufactured in China for Pottery Barn Kids, of San Francisco, California.
This water bottles were sold nationwide at Pottery Barn Kids stores, in their catalog, as well as online at www.potterybarnkids.com , from January 2007 to August 2008 for approximately $10.00. The bottles are approximately 9 inches tall, come in a variety of colors , and have a black rubber pull-up sip top. “Pottery Barn Kids” and the style number are printed on a white sticker on the bottom of the bottle.
Consumer Protection Commissioner Jerry Farrell, Jr. strongly recommends parents and care givers check their children’s water bottles for this product and if found, immediately remove from their possession and return to the store.
