Bridgeport, CT - Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim and the City of Bridgeport will kick off the 21st Annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday, November 4, 2017. On that day, Bridgeport residents can drop off any hazardous materials at Blackham School free of charge. This service is offered annually to encourage the proper disposal of hazardous materials that could affect the health of the community and environment.

“Our aim is to make it easy for residents to dispose of hazardous waste safely and effectively,” said Mayor Ganim. “Load up your vehicle with old paint, old televisions, pool chemicals, gasoline, moth balls, any harmful products you have in your home, the list goes on, and come to Blackham School this Saturday. Stay in your car and the Hazardous Waste team will unload FOR YOU! Disposing of these items properly is safe for the environment and in turn safe for your home and our community.”
