Six Norwalk residents won The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk’s annual Halloween Hoot costume contest Halloween afternoon. They won in every age and costume category, carrying six of the nine awards. Other winners were from Bridgeport, Fairfield and New Canaan. The Aquarium offers free general admission from 3 to 5 p.m. for anyone wearing a costume or at least a mask every Halloween. Children follow a trick-or-treat path throughout the Aquarium’s galleries.

For ages four to eight, Griffin Coffey was “funniest” as a skunk and his brother Flynn was “scariest” as The Joker from new Batman movie “The Dark Knight,” currently playing in The Maritime Aquarium’s IMAX® Theater.
Norwalk kids winning in the age nine and older category were Chris Ehlers, “scariest” as Spiderman and Liam Fratturo was “most original” dressed as Nintendo game character “Chibi Robo.”
Winners from other towns were: Juli Magi, Fairfield, “most original” for ages four and under as a flower; Logan Silva, New Canaan, “funniest” as a cell phone; and Amun Spears, Bridgeport, “most original” ages eight to five as Thomas the Tank Engine.
