Governor M. Jodi Rell is encouraging struggling homeowners to take advantage of a free foreclosure prevention workshop at the Connecticut Convention Center on Saturday.

The workshop will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and nonprofit housing advocates, the HOPE NOW Alliance and NeighborWorks America.

“We have a number of mortgage programs focused on helping families keep their most important investment – their homes,” Governor Rell said. “This federally sponsored workshop on Saturday is another important resource for struggling homeowners. Borrowers have an opportunity to individually meet with lenders and mortgage counselors.”

Borrowers should bring documentation of their income, expenses, debts and mortgage.
