State Representative Gerald Fox III (D-Stamford) has been re-appointed to serve as House Chairman of the Connecticut General Assembly’s Judiciary Committee by Speaker of the House-designate Brendan Sharkey (D-Hamden)

The committee oversees all matters relating to courts, judicial procedures, and criminal law. It is also concerned with all other matters relating to the Judicial Department, the Department of Correction, and to the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities.

"Rep. Fox has established himself as a respected and fair leader of the Judiciary Committee and is very deserving of continuing as chair," said Speaker of the House-designate Sharkey. "Judiciary handles some of the most important and complicated policy and law decisions we face each year, and Gerry is someone we can always count on to meet these challenges head on."

“It is an honor to be re- appointed to serve as chairman of this important committee,” Rep. Fox said." I look forward to working with our committee colleagues as prepare to take on the important issues that we will be facing."

Fox has served the 146th Assembly District, which consists of the south central section of Stamford, since 2005. In addition to his chairmanship, he will serve as a member of the Executive and Legislative Nominations and Transportation Committees during the upcoming legislative session, which begins January 9.
