Bridgeport, CT - Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim is proud to announce today that the 2018 gubernatorial election produced the highest number of Bridgeport resident voters than in the last two prior elections. Over 25,000 Bridgeport residents who are registered voters headed to the polls for the 2018 election to decide who would become Connecticut's next governor. This year's election demonstrates a more than 25% increase from 2014 and 19% increase from 2010 when Governor Malloy was first elected into office.
“This is a big deal,” said Mayor Ganim. “It is great to see our residents exercising their rights. There is power in the democratic process and every vote does in fact count. Voting is a freedom that we should all take advantage of.”
