The featured speaker will be Linda Martinez, registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator at The Endocrine and Diabetes Center of Western Connecticut. She will discuss where to find healthy, low-cost foods, meal planning on a budget, and attendees will receive recipes to try at home. The Diabetes Club of Danbury meets at Danbury Hospital on the third Monday during the months of March, April, May, June, September and October. “The goal of the free diabetes education program is to provide continuous up-to-date information and education regarding the day-to-day management of diabetes,” said Dr. Robert Ruxin, attending physician, Danbury Hospital Department of Medicine, Section of Internal Medicine, certified diabetes educator and medical director of The Diabetes Club of Danbury.
