CityCenter Danbury hosts two-day festival
A view from Parking Garage
CityCenter Danbury announces that the two-day “A Taste of Greater Danbury” will offer its traditionally delicious food from many of the Greater Danbury area’s finest restaurants, FREE headline entertainment(Blue Oyster Cult), and family-fun activities. Quality Arts & Craft vendors, the 2nd Annual Mayor’s Cup Car and Motorcycle Cruise, and a variety of exhibitors and non-profit organizations are some of the additions to the biggest Taste yet.

“Adding these events to “Taste” makes the two day event more festive than ever” states Mark Nolan, Chairman of the CityCenter Board of Commissioners.

Every fall since 1988, tens of thousands of people have enjoyed this perennially successful and overwhelmingly popular festival in downtown Danbury. In its 22nd year, this food extravaganza will offer tasty tidbits from several area restaurants. Enjoy foods from around the globe: Cuban pork sandwiches, kibbee, humus, tabouli, keilbasa, pierogies, empanadas, jerk chicken, curry, fajitas, gelato, Italian pastries, and baklawa, – and also traditional favorites: lobster tail, burgers, hotdogs, chicken fingers, pizza, grinders, ice cream, kettlecorn, and cookies. In addition, heart healthy foods will be provided by the Danbury Hospital Dietary Department. Prices are a good value at $5.00 or less. On both days, in addition to the diverse menu of food items, over 30 non-profit organizations will offer valuable raffles, family activities and novelty items for sale.

As part of the new ‘Kidz Kountry’ area on Saturday and Sunday, The Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut will bring bouncers for jumping, Paul Mitchell The School with their promotional tour bus doing ‘Krazy Kidz Hair’, and the Danbury Fire Department will have three vehicles for display including rides on their ladder truck. In addition, there will be clowns and “old fashion games” for kids to play like ring toss provided by the Portuguese Cultural Center. Curious Creatures will feature exotic animals for children to experience up close and personal. There will be plenty of fun for and all entertainment at Kidz Kountry will be free.
