Product Safety Inspectors from the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection are conducting recall effectiveness checks on Target Stores in response to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s voluntary recall of “Circo Rosette Bobbie Socks,” due to a potential choking hazard for young children which may occur if the ribbon on the sock detaches. This product was manufactured in Hong Kong and imported by Target of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The recalled socks were packaged in a green and white sleeve with a Circo brand logo on the front. This product was sold in the following colors: white, pink, purple. The girls bobbie socks range in size from 6 to 12 months, 12 to 24 months and 2T to 5T.

Target stores sold this product exclusively nationwide for approximately $6.00, from January 2007 to July 2008.

Consumer Protection Commissioner Jerry Farrell, Jr., strongly recommends parents check their children’s socks and if found, immediately remove from the child and return the product to any Target Store. For additional information, please contact Target, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. CT, toll free at (800) 440-0680 or visit their website at www.target.com . Although no injuries have been reported, incidents of detachment have occurred which could potentially result in choking.
