Charity Music starts a chapter in Connecticut

Charity Music, a nationwide non-profit organization devoted to cultivating the next crop of upcoming artists, is starting a chapter in Connecticut. Its signature service is providing musical instruments on loan at no charge to individuals wishing to explore their musical talents. Charity Music was featured on Fox 2 news after donating a number of violins to a concert violinist who lost all of her musical instruments in the Hurricane Katrina. It was also featured in the March 16, 2008 edition of the Stamford Advocate.

Other programs include concert ticket donations, community service programs, Charity Music concert tour, vintage instruments exhibit and music for the military “Notes of Appreciation”. Founder and President Roger Fachini says: “We sent some guitars to servicemen in Iraq. A letter came back and it said that there were seven guys in that group and those guitars were passed around and played 24 hours straight.”

James Daniel music school, located at 125 Bedford Street, will serve as the drop-off center for musical instruments. “It’s a great cause, and we’re glad to support it,” says Budd Tunick of James Daniel.
