The Connecticut Department of Revenue Services (DRS) joined other state agencies and their employees in making sizeable contributions to The 2016 Connecticut State Employees’ Campaign for Charitable Giving (CSEC).

Said DRS Commissioner Kevin Sullivan, “Year after year, DRS employees consistently make substantial personal charitable contributions to help those in need. Children’s charities are very deserving and understandably receive much attention. There are many organizations doing great things – from pediatric cancer treatment centers to groups who provide food, shelter and medicine for children in need overseas.”

“I am quite proud to be associated with so many generous people at the DRS – many who give more than $1,000 annually,” said Sullivan. “Over the past ten years, DRS has contributed over $500,000 to the campaign and just this year alone, approximately $40,000 went to many worthy charities.”

“It takes several committed employees a full year to organize a successful campaign. Retiring DRS Giving Campaign volunteer coordinators, Heddy Krzynowek and Sharon Stewart, have been recognized for their leadership for a decade running the DRS committee. They both received the Pal Flagg Chairman’s Award two years ago for their long-term dedication and effort,” said Joe Mooney, Deputy Commissioner DRS. “Taking over those responsibilities are Jean Davis-Smith and Jeanine Jones.”

According to CSEC staff, the 2016 Connecticut State Employee Campaign for Charitable Giving has collected nearly $1 million from state employees for charitable causes.
