A special moment took place when Mario Musilli, outgoing Chairperson, handed the gavel over to the newly elected Chairperson, Allan Sussman. The new slate of officers and incoming board members was announced. Joining Allan Sussman on the Executive Committee are John Russo, Chairperson elect, Dr. Charles Hertz, Vice Chairperson, Kamalesh Banerjee, Treasurer, and John Downing, Secretary. New board members include Matthew Tackman and Marcia Staines. Matthew Reyher, President/CEO, presented recognition plaques to the major sponsors and helpers at the 2nd Annual Walk for Independence. Among those in attendance receiving these awards included: Sergeant Andrew Gallagher, Stamford Police; Peter Buck, Creative Pension Design and Administration; Bruce Weksler, Bruce Supply Co.; Charles Wiesehahn, Professional Photographer; and many more. ARI awarded its annual volunteer of the year award to Charles Wiesehahn. Charles has taught the ARI Artists’ Initiative Art Classes for the past 4 years. Along with this role Charles has also taken photos at several ARI events including the Walk for Independence. ARI awarded its annual employer of the year award to Bonnie Mausolf from OdysseyRe. Bonnie has been an integral person in the hiring of two ARI clients at her company. Both Charles and Bonnie have dedicated themselves to fulfilling the ARI mission. ARI enriches the lives of people with disabilities and their families by enabling them to achieve their fullest potential at home, at work, and in the community. ARI then awarded their staff awards.
