AARP Tax-Aide offers free tax counseling in Stamford

STAMFORD, CT - Trained tax counselors from AARP Tax-Aide will provide free tax counseling Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays February 1 – April 16 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Ferguson Library’s Harry Bennett Branch, and Tuesdays, 3 – 6 p.m. and Saturdays, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., February 4 – April 14 at the Weed Memorial & Hollander Branch. There will be no program Monday, February 20, since the Library is closed for President’s Day.

AARP Tax-Aide provides free tax assistance to low and middle income taxpayers, with special attention to those 60 and older. No appointment is needed. Bring all 2011 tax documents and a copy of your 2010 tax returns. For more information call 203 351-8292 for the Harry Bennett Branch and 203 351-8286 for Weed Memorial & Hollander.

The Ferguson Library is Stamford’s public library system, consisting of the Main Library downtown, the Harry Bennett Branch, the Weed Memorial & Hollander Branch, the South End Branch and a traveling Bookmobile. It provides free and equal access to print, audiovisual and electronic resources.
