Governor M. Jodi Rell today announced she has authorized a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for 2005 killing Anne Caro, a Mansfield mother of two.
“This senseless crime has left two young children without their mother,” Governor Rell said. “Ms. Caro’s family has spent three agonizing years searching for answers in her death. It is our hope that this reward will prompt someone to come forward with essential information that will ultimately offer the family some closure.”
Caro was found strangled to death in her home on August 28, 2005. The evidence recovered and interviews with witnesses have been unable to provide State Police with the name of a suspect. Investigators are hoping the reward will generate new leads.
The Governor authorized the reward in response to a request earlier this month from Tolland State’s Attorney Matthew Gedansky.
