According to hospital Vice President of Human Resources Anthony Aceto, Norwalk Hospital is seeking skilled and well-qualified applicants for positions in Nursing, Case Management, Emergency Medical Services, Medical Technology, Pathology, Nurse Midwifery Service, Respiratory Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Radiology, Pharmacy and Health Information Management. The available positions range from nurses in specialty areas such as pediatrics, telemetry, emergency medicine and the operating rooms to physical therapists and occupational therapists in outpatient as well as inpatient rehabilitation settings. Like these roles, most of the other positions available involve direct patient contact such as case managers, respiratory therapists, radiation therapists, midwives, medical technologists, medical lab technicians and pharmacists. However, there are also some key clinical "behind the scenes" positions for which the hospital is seeking applicants, such as inpatient coders and tumor registrars, positions in the Health Information Management Department, certified sterile processing technicians and a clinical documentation specialist. The search for qualified candidates extends to the pre-hospital setting because there are also openings for paramedics and EMTs at Norwalk Hospital. These individuals who provide a vital service to the community are usually the first to administer pre-hospital care in emergencies. Although most hospitals in the State do not have their own ambulance services, Norwalk Hospital has a premier service and one of the few hospital-based services in the state. "Our objective is to fill all of these positions with experienced and dedicated individuals who are committed to our mission of providing patient-centered care of the highest quality. At Norwalk Hospital, we encourage and empower our patients and their families to be partners in their care," said Mr. Aceto. Our patient-centered team approach will ensure that Norwalk Hospital remains the hospital of choice for both our employees and our patients, he added. During the Clinical Career Fair, qualified applicants will have the opportunity to meet employees from the hospital and be interviewed by the respective hiring manager. Tours of the hospital will also be offered. Norwalk Hospital provides competitive salaries, comprehensive health and medical benefits, flexible schedules, commutation subsidies, excellent tuition reimbursement benefits as well as ongoing education and training because of the specialization of health care and the hospital's commitment to be on the leading edge of current medical science. Conveniently located in southwestern Connecticut, Norwalk Hospital has been recognized as one of the "Best Work Places for Commuters" by the U.S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), "Our mission as a community teaching hospital is to provide personalized, compassionate healthcare services of exceptional and consistent quality to the people of Fairfield County. We are reaching out to members of our community, who possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, to join our team as we further this mission," Mr. Aceto said. Norwalk Hospital is a 328 bed not-for-profit community hospital serving the needs of Fairfield County. Approximately 2,000 employees, 500 affiliated physicians and 600 dedicated volunteers strive to provide care that is safe, consistent with best practice and customized to meet patient needs and expectations. To assure a high level of quality and up-to-date technology and medical knowledge, the hospital maintains a major teaching affiliation with Yale University School of Medicine and several other recognized colleges and universities, supports its own internal continuing education programs and is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organization.
