Joan Shaw
Joan Shaw of Norwalk, known as a friendly and conscientious “people person” was elected as the new Membership Chair at the recent Annual Meeting (also held in Norwalk) of the Congregation for Humanistic Judaism (CHJ), filling a position previously headed by a team of five Co-Membership Chair people.

“I look forward to sharing my enthusiasm for CHJ with prospective members.” she said.

The Congregation for Humanistic Judaism is a welcoming, supportive community, founded in 1967, for secular Jews and their families to affirm, celebrate, and enrich Jewish identity and values. Jewish and Interfaith families interested in learning about the congregation are invited to attend the Havdalah observance on Saturday August 16. An Open House featuring a shofar demonstration for adults and children will take place Sunday morning September 7.
