History Symposium on Oct. 1 to explore Asia since 1945

The Dept. of Social and Behavioral Sciences will present the fifth annual NCC History Symposium from 10 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008 in the Gen Re Forum (East Campus building).
This year’s theme is “Asia Since 1945.”
The program will begin at 10 a.m. with the screening of the 2004 documentary, “In Search of China: Pursuit of Chinese Identity” (87 minutes).
At 11:30 a.m., NCC President David L. Levinson, Ph.D., will introduce a faculty panel discussion on “Asian History: Looking Back to 1945 and into the Future.” The moderator will be Steve Berizzi, Assistant Professor of History.

Dr. Eileen Brown, Professor Emerita, History (China)
Steven Glazer, Associate Professor of Economics (Japan)
Dr. Robert Howard, Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies (India)
Dr. Hannah Moeckel-Rieke, Instructor of English as a Second Language (Turkey)
