They say nothing is free in this world. Well, First County Bank comes pretty close with its offer of free tickets to the Aug. 5 Beach Boys concert at Stamford’s Alive at Five Summer series. Customers who open a checking account with direct deposit at the 160 Atlantic St. branch from Aug. 2 through Aug. 6 will receive two free tickets while supplies last.

And that’s just one of four separate offers being given to customers as part of customer appreciation week at First County Bank. Customers also can choose from the following: Receive an extra .25 percent APY bonus on the term of any 12 month or longer certificate of deposit; mortgage appraisal fees of $375 will be refunded for single family homes valued up to $700,000; and free piggy banks with $10 savings certificates for children also will be available.

Local business banking customers, Dunkin’ Donuts, Katie’s Gourmet and Peter’s Flowers, will contribute their wares to the branch as part of customer appreciation week. And SBLI, Savings Bank Life Insurance Co., plans to sponsor a prize drawing valued at $300 on Aug. 6.

“What makes First County Bank such a special place is the personal relationships we have with our customers,” said Katherine Harris, executive vice president retail banking at First County Bank. “And whenever we can offer a special promotion or giveaway, our customers appreciate it. Although designated as customer appreciation week, every week is customer appreciation week at the bank. We look forward to seeing lots of people visit our 160 Atlantic Street branch and to their opening up new checking accounts for those Beach Boy tickets. I know I’ll be going to the final Alive at Five concert of the season.” Also playing with the Beach Boys are the Wanderers and Sharkey and the Unknowns.

Free food and beverages will be available in the branch throughout the week. And on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 96.7 The Coast will be broadcasting live from the branch between 12 and 2 p.m.

First County Bank, headquartered in Stamford, Conn., is an independent mutual community bank with 15 branches in Stamford, Greenwich, Darien, New Canaan, Norwalk and Westport offering deposit products, mortgages, trust and investment services, business banking services and online banking.
