The Norwalk Public Library's Books and Authors Series continues with Angelo J. De Mio discussing his book From Beyond the Shadows on Thursday, October 9, 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm in the Main Library Auditorium, 1 Belden Avenue. Mr. De Mio relates his life time experiences growing up in Norwalk and working as a journalist locally and statewide.
In an interview reported in The Hour, De Mio, who now lives in Wethersfield, said of his self-published memoir "It was very vivid in my mind." "These are things that I lived through."
De Mio's story includes glimpses into the "fast-fading generation" who grew up during the Great Depression and became adults during World War II.
"It's a record of the period," he said. "That generation is often regarded as being somewhat special because they survived the Depression and World War II."
Admission is free to this Books and Authors Series, presented by the Norwalk Public Library System to provide writers the opportunity to discuss their books with the public.
