Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988, The Beach Boys were the 60s—California of the 60s, the pursuit of happiness by carefree high-schoolers in less complicated times. (“Fun, Fun, Fun,” “I Get Around”). During the period of 1962-65, they charted 16 hit singles. A family affair, Brian, Carl and Dennis Wilson were joined by cousin Mike Love and friend, Alan Jardine in the original makeup. Brian was the group’s leader, orchestrating their harmonies and writing most of the music. The Beach Boys’ “Help Me, Rhonda” and “California Girls” are pure harmony-filled opuses.
