It may have been her exposure at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver where she sang the national anthem that helped Nikki Yanofsky catapult her career as an internationally known jazz-pop artist. Despite her young age (16), she sings jazz like an old soul and Decca Records, who is producing her debut album Nikki is making sure that Facebook and Twitter users know all about Nikki. She will be in concert at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, October 22 at 8 p.m. This event is underwritten by Adam Broderick Salon & Spa. A complimentary wine tasting compliments of Mélangé Wines and Spirits and hors d’oeuvre from Ancona’s Market will be available for adult ticket holders in the Playhouse lobby at 7 p.m.

Since her 2006 debut at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, Ms. Yanofsky has earned two Juno nominations (Canadian Grammy® equivalent) including New Artist of the Year and Vocal Jazz album of the Year. She has performed alongside such stars as Céline Dion, Marvin Hamlisch and The Count Basie Orchestra. She recorded “Gotta Go My Own Way” in English and French for the Walt Disney hit High School Musical 2. Nikki made a cross-over version of the classic “Stompin’ at the Savoy” with Grammy® award-winning musicians Herbie Hancock and Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas.

For tickets (Gold Circle $35 includes meet & greet;$25), call or visit the box office at The Ridgefield Playhouse, (203) 438-5795. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a not-for-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT; ridgefieldplayhouse.org.
