NORWALK, CT - It will be a week of tricks and treats as Stepping Stones BOO-seum for Children welcomes all into its cauldron of play. This year, the museum’s Halloween festivities are bigger and better as the Stepping Stones Boo Squad has conjured up a week’s worth of fun, exciting experiences that are sure to inspire and delight. During Tricks and Treat Week from Friday, October 25 – Thursday, October 31, ghoulish games, face-painting, make-believe monsters, household wizardry, cosmic night painting, haunting hues artwork, bone-analyzing investigations and so much more. You’re sure to have a monstrously-good time!

Highlights of Tricks and Treats Week include our wickedly-popular Monster Mash on October 25, the ghoulishly-delightful Frank-n-FUN Games on October 26, a Trunk or Treat event on October 27, Kitchen Cauldron Science on October 29, Spooky Kooky Creativity and a special performance of The Silly Dilly Musical: Harvest Edition for school and group audiences on October 30. On Halloween, come on down to the museum dressed in your costumes. Museum members will receive giveaway prizes.

MONSTER MASH

The BOO-seum’s Monster Mash is our annual Halloween fete that is sure to “be a scream.” As always, Monster Mash is a spellbinding evening that is jam-packed with not-so-scary, costumed, family fun. Meander through the museum to our Anatomy Sensory Station, where you can reach your hand into different containers to feel different “body parts;” step into Trick or Treat Chemistry Lab, where you can mix up your own Bubble Brew, create a Fairy Potion that sparkles under black light, make your own Fizzy Tizzy bath bomb or blend together your own slow-moving, Eye Spy Sensory Solution; or lurch into Dr. Frankenstein’s Workshop, where you can build your own monster, play with our screaming orbs, control light with the palm of your hand with our plasma ball or bring things to life as your learn how circuits work.

“It’s alive! It’s alive! Look, it’s moving! It’s alive!”

Our friendly ghosts and goblins will cap off this BOO-tiful evening at our “boo bash” with three wickedly-cool, Monster Mash performances from the kookiest and spookiest of all mad scientists, Dr. Diabolical! Along with his lab assistant Frau Inga and his “right hand man” Lefty, the Doctor makes hilarious and macabre mayhem. This year’s fun-loving experiment involves bringing Frankenstein’s monster back to life. With the help of volunteers from the audience, Doctor Diabolical will succeed where others’ have failed! Show times are 5:30, 6:20 and 7:10 pm. Caregivers, please take note that there is thunder, organ music, mad laughter, electrical noises and a scream or two in Dr. Diabolical’s performance.

As for the rest of the Monster Mash, don’t fret about bringing the littlest visitors. At this Halloween party, we won’t have you crying for your “mummy.” There are age-appropriate activities for all visitors, so that the whole family can enjoy this costume party. Dinner will be available in the Healthyville® Cafe.

Early-bird tickets for Monster Mash cost $10 per person for museum members and $15 per person for non-members before Friday, October 18. Children under the age of one will be admitted for free. After October 18, Monster Mash cost $12 per person for museum members and $17 per person for non-members. Monster Mash tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Registration is required. Space is limited and this event is very popular, so register early. Call 203 899 0606, ext. 247, or visit www.steppingstonesmuseum.org/monstermash.
